For Banking & Finance Expats in Switzerland...

Stuck in the "Shadow Meetings..." With Your Career Hitting German Ceiling Everywhere?

How To Become Fluid German Speaker in 120 Days in CH

If you're technically successful at UBS, Credit Suisse, or another top Swiss bank, but every day you're excluded from the real conversations happening in Swiss German. While your performance is stellar, you watch colleagues get promoted faster simply because they can schmooze with locals in German, then this is for you...

For many expats working in Finance in Switzerland quiet exclusion is the harsh daily reality... Putting in the work, but still not speaking German with ease.

Studying and studying for some paper… But still freezing in real conversations.
Still defaulting to English.
Still feeling that quiet embarrassment, when forcing locals to switch to English just for them.
Still wondering, “Why can’t I actually speak yet?”

The Daily Exclusion

In parallel conversations "Hesch gseh was de Müller gseit het?" And suddenly you're lost while critical decisions are made around you.

The Career Ceiling

"You can make VP without German, but never MD." Your technical skills are excellent, but promotion requires local network access through spoken German.

The Permit Anxiety

Stuck with temporary permit after years, watching the C permit or citizenship slip away due to language requirements.

As if that wasn't enough... You're Not Even Surrounded by the language you're learning

Every German course teaches you Hochdeutsch, but on the streets or on the trading floor you're hearing Schweizerdütsch. It's like learning Spanish then moving to a Portuguese-speaking country. You're surrounded by a dialect so different it might as well be another language entirely. Or colleagues speak English to you...and

Time is your enemy

So Learning Has To Be Delivered To You

Working 60+ hours a week in finance, you barely have time to breathe, let alone attend in person evening classes. Weekend courses? You're either working or recovering.

The Brutal truth

Life in Switzerland Without Spoken German

Every month you delay is another promotion cycle where you're overlooked, another step further from the citizenship or permanent residency freedom & peace of mind.

IF YOU ARE...

Constantly translating and  freezing mid-conversation. Even if you know the words, your brain stalls the moment things speed up or locals go off-script.

If you overthink and overanalyze every sentence. Grammar rules swirl in your head, and by the time you try to say something, the moment has passed.

If you’ve tried it all, but nothing sticks. Apps, tutors, grammar drills: they might help on paper, but fall apart when it’s time to actually speak.

THEN OUR VIPA - PERSONALISED ACTIVE IMMERSION METHOD MIGHT BE FOR YOU...

The only German coaching method designed specifically for high-achieving finance expats who need to master SPOKEN German on their schedule, not with some academic theory curriculums.

Automated Speech Patterns

We don't just teach vocabulary - we program automatic responses even for banking scenarios. Instinctive understanding and responses.

Your Schedule, Your Time

Live 1-on-1 Zoom sessions that fit around your market hours. 6 AM before trading? 9 PM after client dinners? We adapt to YOUR schedule.

The VIPA Method

For Fluid Everyday Spoken German in 120 Days

The VIPA Method was built for people just like you. Expats who’ve tried everything, but still freeze in real conversations. VIPA isn’t a class. It’s not a course. It’s a personalized immersion that rewires how your brain processes and speaks German. Let’s break it down:

1

PILLAR 1: Verb-Led

Verbs are the hardest and most important part of German.
So we start there. Looping and absorbing the most useful ones in context until your sentences just start flowing.
Say goodbye to Tarzan-German.
You’ll build structure, speed, and flow—from the core outward.

2

PILLAR 2: Immersion-Based

You don’t memorize.
You absorb.
Just like your brain did when you learned English, from the ears in.
We give you high-frequency language in real, meaningful context—so fluency starts to stick.
No scripts. No overthinking. Just real-world German that hits differently.

3

PILLAR 3: Personalised in Level

You’ll always be in the “Goldilocks zone”:
Not too hard. Not too easy.
Because that’s where growth lives.
We adapt everything to your pace and life.
Whether you're prepping for a citizenship interview or just want to chat with the dog-walker,
we meet you where your brain learns best.

4

PILLAR 4: Active in Learning

You speak from Day One.
But it’s not stressful performance, it’s practice... but wrapped inside immersion.
No pressure. No perfectionism.
Just real language output that builds naturally on what your brain has already internalized.
So speaking becomes natural. Not nerve-wracking.

BECAUSE CORPORATE EXPATS IN CH: ESPECIALLY IN FINANCE, ARE THE MOST AFFECTED GROUP...

Paradoxically, highly educated, high-achieving expats often end up speaking worse German than those working in gastronomy jobs, for example.
PROBLEM 1

Look, learning German is hard. It’s already very difficult even in Germany: tables, charts, declensions, cases, unusual sentence structure, etc.

On top of that, traditional teachers often teach in the opposite way to how they themselves learned spoken German.

Just look at millionaire footballer Harry Kane, who can afford the “best” (grammar) teachers, yet after 2 years in Munich, he’s still barely speaking any German.

Unfortunately, expats in Switzerland have it even worse than Harry Kane, because...

Problem 2

On the streets of Switzerland, in cafés, bars, restaurants, trams, and trains... you’re surrounded by Swiss German, not High German, and this messes with your brain. As a result, meaningful consolidation of High German can’t really happen in everyday Swiss street life.

Problem 3

Highly educated expats work with highly educated Swiss colleagues who speak to them in English at work. This is precisely why, paradoxically, high-achieving expats often end up speaking worse German than expats working in simpler jobs, in hotels, services, gastronomy, etc.

The thing is, to be able to speak German, your speech has to become automatic in your mind.

But traditional language classes don’t prepare you to automate your speech. They focus on passing an exam to get a piece of paper, which is fine if that’s all you need, but useless if you actually want to SPEAK German on the streets or at work with natives. Because...

On exams you have time to think, but on THE SWISS STREETS — NOT AT ALL.

Traditional schools keep preparing you for these tests, but even if you pass the test... it still doesn’t mean that your speech is automated. You cram theory into short-term memory, and because during exams you have TIME TO THINK, so you can pass, unlike on the streets of Zurich or Basel, for example! That’s why even though you might know some theory about the grammar rules and some words, when somebody speaks to you in German, you don’t know how to respond. You don't understand or you are SUUUUUPER – S . L . O . W.

You talk like a 2-year-old

Or as if you have some brain damage. It’s like there are two of you: one that speaks and the other that monitors your grammar and translations. You're thinking about the content, grammar, and translating it all at the same time. And this causes you to think waaaaaaay too long. People lose their patience and switch to English. Or YOU switch to English because you feel ashamed...

The real problem is that even native German teachers aren’t aware of how they learned their own language, and they teach us in a completely different way from how they learned it as kids.

Very often, we think it’s our age, talent, lack of a language gene, or terrible memory that’s holding us back, but the real problem is that we’re being taught in a completely different way from what actually works.

Your Average native german instructor is often wrong

They teach us in a completely different way from how they themselves learned German as children. Because of the importance of grammar, they assume that this is how they acquired the language, and that this is how we should learn it too. And yes, grammar is important, but the way it actually gets into our brains is rarely through explicit grammar instruction.

Your very German teachers didn’t study grammar when they were 3, 4, or 5 years old.

In fact, no child has ever studied grammar, including me, including you. How could we? We couldn’t even read. What we did was listen to lots and lots of stories, commands, anecdotes, and simple daily language. All of this combined is called Comprehensible Input (C.I.).

Through repetitions heard in context, we naturally picked up grammar patterns, sentence structures, and vocabulary, not through explicit grammar explanations. Your parents, uncles, or grandparents didn’t sit you down and explain the plusquamperfekt when you were four years old…

And this is the real problem: adults, when learning a second language, are forced to skip the most important stage... The acquisition period. And unfortunately, even...

PRIVATE TUTORS OFTEN END UP BEING THE SAME THING THAT DIDN’T WORK IN TRADITIONAL GROUP CLASSES

1. Grammar instructions and drills again, just in a 1-on-1 setting this time, or...

2. Practice speech, but if no meaningful language through immersion has entered through your ears, then what exactly can you practice?

And after all that when…
You’re surrounded by Swiss German.
Spoken to in English.
And taught in a way that goes completely against how languages are actually acquired.

You find yourself...

(1.) At staff gatherings, social events, or job interviews.

Where you’re expected to suddenly become a “German-speaking monkey” on demand. But that’s not a practice session, that’s a high-pressure performance. You’re supposed to be fluent, funny, charming… in a language your brain still panics in. So instead you cling that one English speaker as your life depended on it.

(2.) Meeting your in-laws or your partner’s family and friends.

That’s also not a stress-free practice session, that’s a performance again. You’re focused on making a good impression and how to make them like you. It’s not the time to practice your German grammar or articles.

(3.) Talking to authorities at GEMEINDE or your child’s kindergarten teachers.

That’s also not a stress-free practice, it’s a performance, again and again. You’re expected to speak freely and spontaneously. And getting it wrong often isn’t really an option.

And because of all these reasons we decided to offer a few spoken German audit sessions to help corporate expats to "hack" especially SPOKEN German...

That's why we created a Special Opportunity to
Rent our team for 1 CHF/2 days with our Mini-Challenge.

What happens during our time together? In this live 1:1 Zoom sessions, we’ll:
  • Diagnose the real breakdowns in your SPOKEN German, not just vocabulary, but flow, transitions, and recall
  • Pinpoint the sentence patterns and transitions that trip you up under pressure and confirm or disprove our suspicion based on seeing patterns with many expats in CH
  • Identify what’s been working for you so far, and what’s secretly been wasting your time & sabotaging your spoken German
  • Analyse your speaking through the lens of language acquisition research, polyglots commonalities, and my in-the-trenches fluency experiences, and then...

And here's what I'll show while you experience our immersive personalized method

What I did differently when I finally got sick and tired of studying and studying German and not being able to speak spontaneously. I’ll show you how I…

  • Deconstructed German with official word statistics from the University of Leipzig & Goethe Institute, also known as Zipf’s Law.
  • Started to scan for word and sentence multipliers that can be used in multiple situations, allowing me to speak fluidly with relatively small vocabulary from the start, so I could stay in conversations longer and receive more and more input + more practice.
  • Discovered how to get stress-free practice and spoken confidence building from the start.
  • Started to get real human immersion on command and "steal” fluency from natives.
  • Started to make learning effortless. All I applied was consistency, but the learning itself felt effortless.
  • Stopped using grammar teachers for extended grammar sessions and instead focused on sounding like a native from the start.
  • Started using simple language looping to get used to the patterns of German.
  • Why I stopped using Duolingo and the apps and most of what traditional classes propose…
  • Stopped learning in categories when I learned why the language books are written like that and that they were sabotaging my spoken flow progress.
  • Started to use cognitive load theory to my advantage to feel progress week by week.
  • Focused ONLY on the type of learning that supports long-term retention.
  • Got grammar structures into my brain without any drills or exercises.
  • How I discovered that “the practice advice” only started to work… once I flipped the focus in the student–teacher dynamic.
  • Why it’s almost impossible to “forget how to speak” when you learn this way…
  • Why I stopped memorizing grammar rules after reading just one page of a research book called Principles & Practice in Second Language Acquisition.

Why will these 2 days save you years

  • You won’t have to read thousands of pages of research. I did that and will tell you the most important things.
  • You won’t have to follow polyglots for a decade to see what they all have in common. I’ll tell you.
  • You won’t have to move to 7 different countries to experience language learning. I did that and will tell you exactly what works.
  • And most importantly, you’ll stop scratching your head, not knowing why you can’t learn German in Switzerland. I went through all of that and will tell you exactly what the cause of your plateau is. After that you do with that info what you want, but at least you'll know...

You’ll walk away with:

After our live 1:1 Zoom sessions, you'll have...

  • A clear diagnosis of what’s actually EXACTLY holding your spoken German back
  • Specific hacks and mental shifts to speak faster and with less stress
  • The exact words and structures to focus on first (and what to stop wasting energy on)
  • The sentence patterns that let you create 1,500+ responses on the fly, even in fast conversations
  • How to actually get everyday spoken German into your brain, so it sticks in your long-term memory.
  • Common mistakes that keep corporate expats stuck for years, so you can skip them entirely

How? By Using Logic And Working With Official German Words Corpus Statistics

Unfortunately, in school or on most apps, you’re constantly working with low-frequency words.

Some words (like the name of a random bird) appear in everyday speech about 0.001% of the time. Others show up over 3.0%. Which do you think are more important?

I’ll show you exactly how to use real frequency data from sources like: The University of Leipzig’s Corpora Collection, a large-scale text database with billions of German words from newspapers, online texts, and spoken conversations. And the Goethe Institute’s German Language Analysis, focused specifically on the most frequently used words in everyday spoken German.

This way, you're not just learning any German. You’re learning the real spoken German.

The Best Part?

You don’t have to spend years figuring this out the hard way. Because I already did.

Here’s what you can skip:

  • You don’t have to waste time on drills, flashcards, grammar charts, or Duolingo streaks. (Been there.)
  • You don’t have to “just practice” or memorize scripts and hope they somehow stick. (Tried that too.)
  • You don’t have to rotate through apps, cartoons, immersion tricks, or Pimsleur packs. (All of it.)
  • You don’t have to travel around Europe experimenting with methods that might work. I did that.
  • You don’t need to binge hundreds of polyglot YouTube videos trying to spot a pattern. I did that.
  • And you don’t have to dig through stacks of dry academic papers about how adults acquire language. (Because I did that for years.)

What you get instead...

I could show you 100 things. But I’ll show you few simple things that matter most for your spoken German. The things that actually unlock fluency, even under pressure.

Not textbook theory. Not fluff.

Just the core shortcuts that finally get the words out of your head and into your mouth, with confidence.

I’ve been exactly where you are:

  • Eight years of school German, and I still couldn’t speak.
  • Blank mind. Dry mouth. Total freeze.
  • Then I accidentally figured it out, and became a polyglot.
  • I learned German (and Swiss German) as an adult in Switzerland.
  • I built a team of native speakers, and together we’ve helped dozens of expats get unstuck and finally speak.

2-Day Mini-challenge. Zero overwhelm.

Just ten years of hard-earned lessons, boiled down into what you actually need, right now.

About Peter Drotar

After studying German at school for 8 years, I still couldn’t speak it! When I arrived in Zurich, I couldn’t mix with the locals. I absolutely needed to learn the language so that I didn’t feel like an outsider.

My shame drove me to search endlessly for a better way of learning. Believe me, learning languages was not easy for me at the beginning… I struggled! Eventually, I discovered what I had suspected all along: the problem was not me, but the methods I was using.

Once I discovered what’s really important for communication (you’ll be amazed at how much of what is normally taught actually gets in the way of communication) and how to best use the mind for rapid learning, I acquired not only German but also Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, English and Russian.

I am now a multi-language speaker. But the main reason I have a lot to offer you is simply this: I have been where you probably are now...

Hi. My name is Peter Drotar and I became a polyglot almost by accident...

I learned to speak 7+ languages, some fluent, some at comfortable conversational level. But I have very embarrassing thing to admit. I had a 8 years of German classes during my childhood at my school back home in Slovakia and I failed it completely before I discovered how to really learn languages fast... what now feels almost like cheatcode to languages that I will pass on to you...

Place & Duration?

Live per Zoom. 2x60min. in 2 days.

why is it good for me?

So you don’t spend years trying to figure this out like I did, you’ll walk away knowing exactly why spoken German still feels hard.

You’ll see the specific group of words that’s causing most of your freezing, and more importantly, you’ll know what to do about it.
Whether you decide to work on it alone, with us, or with someone else, you’ll have a clear plan.

In my own journey (and after working with dozens of corporate expats in Switzerland) I’ve seen the same thing again and again:
Most people are working on the wrong things, in the wrong order, or in the wrong way. That’s what keeps them stuck.

who is this for?

Expats in Switzerland (especially from finance who are surrounded by English at work) wanting to finally speak real, fluid spoken German out loud.

who is this NOt for?

If you prefer textbook theory over actually being able to speak, this isn’t for you. If you believe there are no smarter ways, and that the only path is grinding, memorizing, and grammar drill marathons, this won’t feel like a fit either.

If you’d rather tap away at apps than talk to real humans, this isn’t for you. And if you believe you can skip straight to Business German without first mastering everyday German, this is also not for you.

What happens during your 2-day MIni-Challenge?

Each day has two parts:

  1. We’ll go over the science behind this method and how to “hack” spoken German, and we’ll test your current level.

  2. You’ll experience the class live with our immersion guides.

PRICE?

1 CHF. Paid after 2 days :)

Why so cheap?

It’s a way of providing value upfront, and a percentage of people decide to explore working with us more closely afterward. It also gives an opportunity to those who are currently unemployed and need to improve their spoken German faster to get a job as soon as possible.

Is this offer constant?

Heads up — this won’t be around forever.

These 1:1 Zoom sessions take real time, real energy, and a lot of personal focus.

Which means we can only offer so many, and especially for 1 CHF

I’m not sure how much longer I’ll keep offering these at this price, or in this private format.
I might raise the price, move them into small group sessions or pause them altogether.

So if you’ve been thinking about it… this is the moment.
Lock in your spot, and get clarity before it disappears.

What exactly will you show me again?

Instead of dumping 100 language tips on you, I’ll show you just 3 core things from my 10+ years of figuring out what actually works.

You’ll see the simplest way to get spoken German into your brain — without drills, without memorizing verb charts, and without turning your evenings into grammar marathons.

Most methods are way too hard, too laborious, or just soul-crushingly boring.
This one? Surprisingly easy. Actually kind of pleasant. You just need a little consistency — not perfection.

It’s the exact process that helped me go from bumbling idiot in German class to speaking 7+ languages — all learned as an adult.

is this really different or more of the same?

These three shifts might seem small, even a little underwhelming at first. But when you combine all 3 of them alongside some consistency the impact is massive. It’s exactly how I learned every language I speak today.

How do I pay?

At the end of the 2nd day, you’ll receive a QR invoice.

What's the catch?

We're doing this to get feedback.

I want to see how well I can distill over a decade of experience and research into one clear, 60-minute sessions, so you walk away with real, useful insights.

If you find it helpful, and it feels like a good fit, we might invite you... asking if you'd like more support to fast-track your spoken German.

But the main goal is for you to finally understand how to hack spoken German, and know exactly what to focus on next, regardless of what happens after.

There might be many reasons why you’re not the right fit for us (or we’re not the right fit for you) and that’s totally fine. We’ll only know that after the sessions.

That’s it. No pressure. Just clarity. And a next small step, if it makes sense.

If You Want To Take Advantage Of This Crazy Offer Then Just Ask On The Phone/Email For
